CPanel - How to add or remove an email account

By default, your cPanel account has 1 primary email account created. It is usually a good idea to add your own email account and not use the default account. To create your own email account, follow these simple steps once you've logged into cPanel:

  • Click the email accounts icon.

  • Fill in your desired email address and password - you will be prompted to enter the password twice and the passwords must match. You can also set a mailbox limit on the account here - the default is 250mb. This size is generally quite generous for an email account mailbox limit.

  • Click the "Create" button.


Congratulations, you have just created an e-mail address for your account. To remove an account, simply click the "delete" icon next to the account you wish to delete. You can see the list of accounts you have created in the "email accounts" page where you created the email accounts.
