How to setup an autoresponder
From EZP Knowledge Base
An autoresponder is a tool that generates an automatic response to emails received. To setup an autoresponder in cPanel, simply follow these steps:
- Click the Auto-responders Icon.
- In this section click the "Add Autoresponder" button.
- Before typing anything make sure you set the "Character Set" option to "UTF-8".
- Next, in the “Email:” box, type the beginning/user part of the email address you're creating an auto responder for (the part that comes before the @ symbol).
- Use the drop down menu to select the domain for the email address.
- Fill in the “From:” box to provide the user you wish the autoresponder to be sent as.
- With the "Subject" box you have a choice here. You can set a subject line you would like the autoresponder to always use, or you can leave it blank and it will reply with the subject the recipient originally sent to your autoresponder.
- Select the HTML Message check box if you would like the email to contain HTML. If you don't select it then your HTML tags will be displayed as plain text.
- There is a big text field for you to provide the body of your message you want in the autoresponder.
- Click Create / Modify!
Ta-da! If someone sends an email to the address you specified they will receive an automatic reply with the info you've entered! Congrats :)
- To stop sending autoresponses be sure to click the "delete" button on the address you wish to remove the autorespond function from.
